Dispatch #7 - Bill It!

At a CPA firm where I used to work, one of the partners would bill dozens of clients each month, in about one hour. He’d review his WIP with the firm's bookkeeper, and from my office, all I heard was: "Bill it. Bill it. Bill it." He had mastered the art of billing.

Construction billing is more difficult. But in today's climate, remember those words: Bill It!

Scrub your open jobs and service work orders for anything possible to bill out—precon/design, mob/demob, gen reqs, hours, consumables, materials, equipment, subs, you get the picture.

Push to the limits of the contract and the customer relationship. Now is not the time to be shy about it.
