Dispatch #5 - California Shelter in Place Weekend Update

Important construction-related, Saturday update from the Governor's Office:

This morning, March 21, 2020, the Governor's Office released a document clarifying who can work and who can't work under Governor Newsom's "shelter in place" order issued on Thursday.

The document clarifies that those who work in the construction industry are exempt from the state-wide "shelter in place" order.

The above is from a news alert from Nomos LLP.

Recommendation: read it carefully, stay current on updates, and look for opportunities to go back to work on some of your job sites, if it can be done so:

  • Safely (to individuals and the community)

  • In accordance with local shelter in place mandates

  • In accordance with union agreements

  • In agreement with your customers and project owners (if different).

The risk management equation changes daily, so run major decisions by your relevant Advisory team members (see Dispatch #3, third bullet point).
